Day 1: New Zealand – Bangkok (B)

 

Day 2: Bangkok  Sightseeing (B)

 

We do a tour of the city and temples, visit the reclining Buddha and golden Buddha in the breathtaking splendor of the temples.  Afternoon free.

 

Day 3: Floating markets and Rose garden (B/L)

 

Visit the craft markets on the way to the exhilarating unique floating markets travel down the canals in the Long Tail boats then on to the Rose Garden, lunch here is splendid with a huge variety and “all you can eat.” We see a fabulous show of culture dancing and elephants playing.

 

Day 4: Bridge over the River Kwai (B/L)

 

We travel to Kanchanaburi by coach to the infamous Bridge over the River Kwai, then a train trip on the historic Death Railway. Visit the museum and gardens of the fallen. Enjoy a great lunch on the banks of the River Kwai.

 

Day 5: Bangkok to Chiang Mai (B)

 

Leave hotel for our flight to Chiang Mai. Check in to our fabulous hotel at Chiang  Mai., relax, have a swim in the pool or just soak up the atmosphere. Chiang Mai is the place to shop and get clothes made; the markets are incredible, only two minutes walk from hotel.

 

Day 6: Craft Markets/Cultural Dancing Show in the Evening (B/D)

 

Tour of the craft markets which include jewellery, pottery, silk, painted umbrellas.   The afternoon is free to relax by the pool.  This evening we enjoy a wonderful Kantok meal whilst watching cultural dancing and “long finger nailed dance”. This is so elegant. A great cultural night out.

 

Day 7: Elephants at Work (B)

 

Fabulous day today.  This morning, we visit the working elephants, watch the show (painting and playing football), take an optional ride on the elephants, have your photos taken with some of the Maa Sae Hill Tribe wearing their traditional clothing.  On the return journey  we visit the orchid and butterfly farm, the rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.

 

Day 8: Highlight of the trip: “Long Neck Hill Tribe” (B/L)

 

We visit the Long Neck Hill tribe located just 20k from the Burmese border.  An exciting full packed day.   We also visit the incredible Chiang Dao cave and on the return journey call in at the the Mong village, an absolutely amazing day.

 
Day 9: Free Day – Chiang Mai (B)

 

Your free day in Chiang Mai.  Brenda suggests a morning river cruise and / or afternoon visit to the Tiger Temple, or just laze by the pool.

 

Day 10: Chiang Mai – Phuket Island (B)

 

Say goodbye to this incredible friendly region. Join the flight at Chiang Mai airport to Phuket Island. Transfer to our hotel in Patong, settle in, browse the area, take a stroll on the beach, swim in the pool or shop.  Your time, your choice!

 

Day 11: Tour of the Island (B)

 

We do a tour of the stunning Phuket Island; we go to a lookout point for a beautiful photo opportunity, visit a Macadamia nut factory and shell shop  We have lunch (own cost) in a beautiful beachside location, then visit one of the largest jewellery manufacturers in the world.

 

Day 12: Free Day – Phuket (B)

 

Your free day in Phuket. Relax on the beach, stay by the pool, see Brenda for options.  Suggestions are to take an amazing boat trip to James Bond Island, and for the evening see the incredible Fantasia Show or Simon Show.

 

Day 13: Free Day – Phuket (B)

 

You’ll have already found there is so much to do here you’ll want another free day in Phuket. Relax on the beach, stay by the pool, wander the markets, take a boat trip to Phi Phi Island or any of the other islands.  We’ve changed our itinerary to include this extra day here at client’s request.

 

Day 14: Homeward Journey (B)

 

Last minute morning browsing.  All good things must come to an end.  Flight from Phuket to Bangkok for our homeward bound journey.
